Fixed price conveyancing

No-one likes a nasty surprise. Think of all the times you've taken your car to the garage for a service and MOT, and suddenly found that there is a problem that you didn't know about, a problem that's going to cost you big-time to fix!!

Well, in life, sometimes circumstances like that are impossible to avoid, but with your legal costs there's no need!

Conveyancing is a process which is routine enough for a solicitor to be able to offer their services at a know, fixed price given enough accurate information to generate a quotation. The things that can push up the legal costs of moving house are well know. These include such things as buying or selling a leasehold property.

A usual conveyancing bill is comprised of 2 types of fees and charges. The first type are the legal fees which is the solicitor's professional fee for their time and expertise. These fees are variable. They change from solicitor to solicitor.

The second type of fees and charges are the disbursements. In this category fall the fixed unavoidable charges such as all the searches and the Land Registry Fee and VAT, and some other fees and charges, most of which are somewhat of a con.

It is rather hard to put a fixed price on conveyancing as a general, but there are solicitors who have rather low fees which do compensate one way or another.

When you find yourself in need of a solicitor to help you with your conveyancing transaction, the best thing to do is to look around on the "solicitors market".

We would recommend you not to resort to a local solicitor since their price might be a lot higher than that of a solicitor who is a bit further away from you. A face to face meeting is not required anyway, so why trade your money for the possibility of walking straight into his office?

At AgentQuote.co.uk we pride ourselves with 100% transparent prices, all fees and charges being fully disclosed in our quotes.

All the solicitors from our panel are required to sign a contract through which they are prohibited to hide any of their costs. Also as another measure of precaution, to ensure we only have the best with us, we also keep a close eye on the solicitor's personal rating and if it doesn't meet our standard, of 90% or better positive feedback, they will be promptly removed from our panel.
