Estate Agents Commission Rates Disambiguated
Many property sellers are unaware of the disparate commission rates that London agents will charge for selling your property. It is a well established fact that not all London estate agencies charge the same rates and there is a very good reason for this - so don't make your selection of agency based on just the price. A number of London agents may quote standard prices but after visiting your property, may determine that the property may be more difficult to market than their usual properties because it's in a bad area or bad state of repair meaning increased marketing costs and sales effort. Conversely, some estate agents may quote a lower than normal commission if they think that they can sell your property easily and quickly. A number of London estate agents do not suffer with the running costs of bigger firms who have invested heavily in town centre offices, top-level staff training, sophisticated computer software and professional marketing collateral and resources. That is not to say that low cost commission rates will deliver cut-down customer service and professionalism because one can at times experience inadequacies when dealing with bigger chain firms too. Cut price London agents usually need a bigger turnover of properties in order to trade profitably and are as a consequence less likely to show concern about securing the best value for their clients. The net total of the post-sale money in your pocket is clearly more important than the commission your London agent has invoiced in commission costs.
